The Mary Ricks Thornton Cultural Center has been filled with the music of Kosciusko High School students twice in the past week.
The Kosciusko High School Choir, directed by Stephanie Holmes, gave its spring pops concert Thursday, April 26. Seniors Skye Hazlett and Rejohn Toten,
accompanist, in their last performance with the group, were recognized by the director. Other members of the choir are Madison Ballard, Maurisha Dillon, Tameelah Gladney, Terriaua Ickom, Claneisha Olive, Madison Stroud, Shronda Wilder, Tyra Brown, Ra’Keysia Fleming, Raven Nichols, Lashundra Rockett and Amari Warren. Soloists during the performance were Olive, Hazlett, Ballard and Warren.
On Monday, April 30, Holmes presented 29 different piano students for their recital. The students’ selections ranged from traditional to classical, Mexican to pop. Students performing were Marionta Fox, Mikeria Bentley, Sekya Brown, Sarah Grace Armstrong, Trinity Mosley, Kentrell Teague, Ava Bell, Ashanti Mallett, Darrial Cook, Jeffrey Barksdale, Yarticia Latiker, Keyunna Patty, Lakelynn Fancher, Mark Skelton, Joseph Gant, Hayden Moffett, Austin Joiner, Maria Garcia, Neveah Arnett, Caitlyn Bang, Dasha Steen, Maggie Joiner, Edward Cruz, Vanessa Martinez, Lillian Dean, Adysson Poole, Rennard Greenlee, La’mir Harmon and Allison Thomas.
