Dancing Rabbit Geneological Society to meet Jan. 10
The Dancing Rabbit Genealogical and Historical Society will meet on January 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Carthage –Leake County Library. This meeting will be a business meeting only to close out 2017 and to begin 2018. There will not be a guest speaker for this meeting. We will resume with our regular schedule in February.

The Together on Diabetes Initiative classes will be held in the conference room at Premier Medical Group on Jan. 11 and Jan. 25.
Picking 35 set for Saturday, April 7
Plans are underway for the second annual Picking 35, slated for Saturday, April 7, 2018.
Picking 35 is a 50-mile stretch of yard sales beginning in Attala County near Carmack that runs down Highway 35 through Kosciusko, Carthage and then ending in South Leake County at Walnut Grove.
The entry fee to be included in the advertising and promotion is $20 to help defray the costs of signage and advertising.
The form can be completed and entry fee paid at any of the following locations: Kosciusko-Attala Partnership Office, Walnut Grove Town Hall or Main Street Chamber of Leake County Office.
For your entry, you will receive a 24 x 18 official vendor yard sign with stake.

Second Gun Season with Dogs runs through Jan. 17
The second gun season with dogs is Dec. 24, 2017 through Jan. 17, 2018. Hunters may harvest bucks or antlerless deer on private land and legal bucks only on open public land.
