Hopewell M.B. Church will honor their musicians Deacon Leroy Wise Sr. and Brother Demarcus Hogsett and Brother Jamal Harmon on Saturday April 1, at 6 p.m. at the Sequoia Center in Durant. Guest groups will be the Hopewell M.B. Choir, Gospel Soul Searchers and the New Sallis Southernaire.

Mount Pilgrim’s Quarterly Youth Leadership Program will be held on the March 25 at 4 p.m. The theme is “Succeeded for Success.” Mount Pilgrim also invites everyone to the annual shut-in service on Friday, March 30, beginning at 8 p.m. The theme is “Call unto me.” Everyone is invited to come and worship at the Easter sunrise service on April 1. Services begin at 5 a.m., and the theme is “Our redeemer lives.” If you believe this and can, come help us make this a glorious time in the Lord.
Shiloh Independent Methodist
Shiloh Independent Methodist Church is holding a benefit for Mary Betty Muirhead on March 24. There will be a car wash and bake sale at Carmack Fish House beginning at 8 a.m. There will be an Auction & Gospel Singing, featuring Benny Rigby and Jackie Gooden, Cliff Townsend and “Always Praise” of Grenada, at Carmack Community Center at 6:30 p.m. with an admission charge of $5 for adults, $3 for 12 and under. Donations may also given in her behalf to Shiloh Independent Methodist Church. All proceeds up to $2,500 will be matched by Modern Woodmen.

Sunrise Baptist Church will be assisting with the Charles Joyner’s Benefit for a liver transplant
at the Leake County Coliseum March 24, starting at 10 a.m. There will be a car show, motorcycle ride (reg at 9:45 a.m.) and silent auction. Chicken plates will be $10 and hamrburger plates will be $5. A concert featuring Backdraft begins at 1 p.m., and Anse Rigby will perform at 2 p.m.
