“A Step Back in Time” will take place tonight (Thursday) with a walking tour around the courthouse square beginning at 6.
The event was begun last year under the sponsorship of Kosciusko Main Street. Its success prompted a repeat performance, according to Main Street Director G.G. Holmes.
Eight women dressed in period attire, who were prominent in business and social circles around town in the early to mid-1900s, will give stories of their lives and involvement in the community. Last year, men were featured.
On the east side, Judi Bell will portray Mrs. Frank Rutherford and Sue Dorrill, Mrs. E.C. , Coleman; north side will feature J.J. Warrington as Miss Alta Burchfield and Terry Jones, Mrs. W.C. (Annie Lou) Thompson; west side, Sara Cheek as Miss Ellen McNulty and Hollee Casey as Miss Eva Webb; south side, Kay Dawson as Miss Edith Beckham and Ann Windham as Mrs. W.H. Turner.
Tours will begin on the east side. Water stations and chairs will be placed at intervals along the walk. Drama students of Laura Leigh Adams will assist in the tours.
Following the walk refreshments will be served in the courthouse.
Tickets are $15 and are available in the Kosciusko-Attala Partnership (KAP) office and at the Pocket Park on East Jefferson Street the night of the walk.
