Three hundred eighty four third grade students in Kosciusko and Attala County Schools have a personal dictionary compliments of the Kosciusko Rotary Club.
Last week Rotarian Dr. Larry Routt, dressed as Mr. Dictionary, gave instructions in use of the dictionary as copies of “A Student’s Dictionary and Gazetteer” were handed out. Rotarian Rev. Philip Palmertree assisted in the distribution. At Middle Elementary in Kosciusko, 249 students received their copies; 48 at Long Creek Elementary; 68 at Greenlee Elementary; 18 at Presbyterian Day School. Teachers, the school libraries and the Oprah Winfrey Boys and Girls Club also received copies.
Andrew Frank provided labels which were placed in each of the dictionaries. All members of Rotary made contributions through helping with the conducting of fund raisings held to finance the annual project.
The club meets each Monday at noon at Rib Alley Restaurant with a speaker highlighting topics of community interest.
