Certified personnel for 2018-2019 along with salary schedules and the school calendar were among approvals made at the Thursday night meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Kosciusko School District.
Board meetings are normally held each second Monday but this meeting was scheduled early because of a conflict with spring break.
In personnel matters, resignations were accepted from Angela Holman, Emily Russell, Suzanne Pinkard and Regina Smith. Retirement letters from Theresa Rule and Rose Beauchamp were accepted. Janice Zollicoffer was named to child nutrition at the high school replacing Alicia Anderson. Jacqueline Terry was named child nutrition substitute for the remainder of the school year.
In 16th section matters, the board voted to advertise for hunting lease bids on 649 acres.
Other approvals of the board included: JH&H Architects to have auditorium surveyed fior structural damages; Debbie Silver as speaker at KSD staff development on August 1; Karen Causey as a paraprofessional with KHS tennis for 2018 season; accept piano donated by Doug and Lisa Crosby.
Field trip requests approved were KHS track team to travel to all away track meets for the 2018 seasion; Manza Blaine to attend Miss. Speech-Language Hearing Conference in Natchez, April 18-20; Jerrelyn Jackson and principals to attend teacher recruitment meetings April 3 at MSU, April 5 at JSU and April 6 at the University of Mississipi; Josh Dodd, Jennie Cook and Sandy McBride to travel to ESSA and IDEA conference March 26-28 in Vicksburg; travel for KHS TSA team to travel to state conference/competiton in Tupelo March 28-29; KJH PE students to travel to Winona to tour Old Mountain Outdoor Adventure April 5 for girls and April 6 for boys; Gaming Club to travel to Starkville for Get Out escape room on May 5; Moteka Beechamp to attend Making Connections Conference in Biloxi June 6-8; Lindsay Dickerson to attend Section 504 workshop April 12 in Ridgeland.
Fundraisers were approved for KJHS Theater 2 class to sell t-shirts and Kosciusko Lower Elementary students to sell Tupperware for PTA.
