The Kosciusko Board of Alderman met last Tuesday night with a light agenda.
It a new police department hire, Jamie Eaves, who had previously worked for the KPD in 2002. Eaves was scheduled to start his employment last Wednesday.
It was noted by the board as well that the KPD is still looking to fill open positions for police officers in the wake of Bobby Land and Kenny Baron accepting positions with the Mississippi Highway Patrol and Mark Hill accepting a position with the Attala County Sheriff’s Department.
Aldermen also heard from head librarian Charla Grace of the Attala County Library who came to introduce herself to the board and give an update.
Grace gave info to the board about the usage of Dial-A-Story, library internet and items such as books and videos that are checked out on a regular basis.
In other business, Curtis Turnbo’s appointment to the planning commission was approved by the board as well as travel for city attorney George Dorrill to attend the MMA (Mississippi Municipal Attorneys’ Association) Winter Meetings. Waste Water Department employee Stevie Ables was approved for further training while Melissa Moore was given a raise after completing a 40-hour 911 Basic Course. The board then adjourned until December 19.
