The Kosciusko School District recently received monies to help replace the stage curtains in the recently re-opened auditorium at Kosciusko Junior High School from the Kosciusko Foundation for Excellence in Education (KFEE).
Since the district invested in necessary asbestos abatement and repair of the facility, which had been closed for several years, the KFEE has made it a mission of the organization to fund further improvements to the facility. The goal is to improve and expand it into the Skipworth Performing Arts Center, which could be used for a variety of community events. The donation toward stage curtains represents the beginning of the project’s second phase.
Other organizations, businesses and individuals wishing to help fund the facility expansion can send donations to KFEE /Skipworth, PO Box 1184, Kosciusko, MS, 39090.
Pictured accepting the check on the district’s behalf was Superintendent Billy Ellzey. Presenting the check were KFEE board members Michelle Nowell, Wes Carter, Janet Adkerson and Hart Pettit.
