The Kosciusko Board of Aldermen took the next step towards repairing sewer lines underneath the city.
Aldermen agreed to advertise and receive bids for inspection and cleaning of the lines. According to city engineer Christian Gardner, the city has approximately 55,000 feet of lines and would cost as much as $350K to completely replace.
“We have some lines that might need to be fixed immediately and some that might be in good shape, so getting them inspected first is the best thing the city can do,” Gardner said.
In other business the aldermen:
• approved a payment of $6,355 to Delta Constructors for sewer repair;
• accepted the resignation of Latoya Thompson at dispatch;
• agreed to accept bids for confiscated and seized weapons;
• accepted a bid of $1,651.75 from Harvey Services, Inc.
The next scheduled meeting of the Kosciusko Board of Aldermen will be April 4 at 5:30 p.m. inside city hall.
