An old baseball field at Aponaug Park will be replaced.
The Kosciusko Board of Aldermen unanimously approved a bid totaling $13,750 to replace the field and much of the fence. The bid was awarded to Edwards and Son Fence Company out of Kosciusko.
According to parks director Todd Ables, the project will leave the outfield fence in the same location, but will bring in home plate to make the field 230 feet to deep center.
In other business the aldermen approved three resolutions to honor the Kosciusko Cardinal Pee-wee football team for a Super Bowl championship, the Big Red Band for winning the state marching championship and former Helping Hands Director Pat Rice after her retirement.
Other actions taken include
• approving a proclamation to support the Great American Smokeout, which was held last week;
• set the city holiday schedule calling for city hall to be closed Nov. 24-25 and Dec. 23-26;
• set a public hearing for 9:30 a.m. Dec. 30 for an update on the city’s CDBG program;
