The Kosciusko Board of Aldermen reviewed a draft of a proposed zoning ordinance that was presented last month.
A draft of the ordinance can be seen here. A meeting for public input on the zoning ordinance will be Jan. 17.
In other business the aldermen accepted the resignation / retirement of longtime officer and captain with the Kosciusko Police Department, Danny Grooves. Grooves will retire from the department Jan. 31.
“Danny has done a really good job, but he just feels like its time. We appreciate his service,” Mayor Jimmy Cockroft said.
Other action taken by the aldermen include:
• approving an update to the city’s municipal code along with a program to put the code online;
• approving DATA systems software for software and hardware maintenance for bookkeeping and payroll;
• approving a quitclaim deed on Hwy. 12 W.;
• approving a resolution to honor Municipal Government Week.
The next scheduled meeting of the Kosciusko Board of Aldermen will be Jan. 17.
