A traffic stop led to a drug bust in Kosciusko Wendesday night.
Kosciusko Police Department Investigator Greg Collins initiated a traffic stop the led to the discovery of illegal prescription drugs. At about 3:15 pm Collins stopped a vehicle driven by Jeremy Carr, a 29-year-old black male, for speeding. Investigator Collins made contact with Carr and found his drivers license were suspended.
A search of the vehicle uncovered over 100 Schedule II prescription pills, marijuana, scales, and a firearm. Carr was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana in a vehicle, possession of paraphernalia, speeding and suspended drivers license.
Carr was booked and transported to the Leake County Jail on a $42,000.00 bond.
The incident took place on Hwy. 12 West and North Wells Street.
