The Kosciusko Lions Club has launched a drive to collect funds for its annual Christmas Basket Project.
Chairman Taylor Casey said the club hopes to deliver 240 baskets of food to Kosciusko and Attala County residents. Each basket will be valued at approximately $100 and will contain a variety of staple items along with items to make a complete Christmas dinner.
In addition to the distribution of food baskets, the club will deliver gifts to residents of the Attala Nursing Center, Atwood Personal Care Home and the Martha Jo Leslie State Veterans Home.
Monetary donations along with canned food are being accepted. “We will be glad to pick up any canned food items that you wish to donate or if you wish, you may deliver your items to the Kosciusko-Attala Partnership (KAP) office,” said Casey.
Monetary donations may be mailed to Christmas Basket Project, Kosciusko Lions Club, P.O. Box 179, Kosciusko, MS 39090.
Applications for the baskets may be made by calling the Attala Volunteer Program, (former RSVP) 289-6964 or the KAP office, 289-2981.
Casey said the baskets are expected to be delivered on Wednesday, Dec. 14.
