A 20-year-old man is behind bars after a drug bust by the Kosciusko Police Department.
KPD officers arrested Cortez Simmons on Peeler Street Wednesday. He was charged with sale of a controlled substance for crack cocaine, felony possession of a controlled substance for methamphetamine, felony possession of a controlled substance for crack cocaine and driving on a suspended driver’s license. The arrest was made by investigator Greg Collins.
Simmons is being held in the Leake County Jail on a $40,000 bond.
Other recent arrest include:
• J.B. Reed, a 23-year-old black male was arrested for shoplifting at Walmart by Officer Cody Williams on Wednesday;
• Monica Johnson, a 27-year-old black female, was arrested for contempt of court on Highway 12 East by Officer Nathan Linkins on Thursday.
