With over 155 graduates, the Class of 2018 is Kosciusko’s largest. Superintendent Billy Ellzey noted that this class earned more than $650,000 in scholarships.
“Don’t let fear keep you from reaching your goals,” he said.
Salutatorian Tanner Threet expressed gratitude toward teachers, family and classmates.
“Tonight is the conclusion of one of many chapters in our lives,” he said, one that will give students many memories to take along on their journey into the next.
Valedictorian Kiarra Woodard said working for one’s goals with the support of family, friends and school leaders meant a lot to her success.
“They always knew what to say and when to say it,” she said. “Never give up; keep the faith. We all matter; we are the future.”
And in closing her remarks, Woodard quoted Teresa Trussell, who is retiring from Kosciusko High School after more than 30 years of service.
“Ms Trussell says, ‘No matter what you do, no matter where you go, you are ALWAYS a Whippet!’”
