The KFEE (Kosciusko Foundation for Excellence in Education) held its annual gala this past Tuesday night at the Skylight Grill on the square.
The KFEE was chartered in July of 1991 as a non-profit organization whose purpose was to enhance public education in Kosciusko. The founders of the organization include local business leaders, teachers, doctors and concerned parents who were interested in supporting and supplementing the Kosciusko City Schools.
The event featured Dr. Timothy Alford and Kosciusko Superintendent Bill Ellzey as speakers, as well as music from the Holmes Community College Jazz Ensemble.
The event raised over $20,000 for classroom grants, ACT prep classes, teacher appreciation, teacher scholarships, funding for STEM classes and to help the public schools to excel in areas where budget constraints have limited them.
