Activities are planned each day Sept. 19-23 in Kosciusko City Schools in anticipation of annual homecoming.
Following a Safari theme, a parade will take place around the courthouse square at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, with each school entering a float. The homecoming court will be presented and the selection of queen to be announced during halftime activities as the KHS Whippets meet Itawamba High School on Landrum Field at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23.
Freshman maids are Tameelah Gladney, daughter of Troy and Alicia Perteet and Terrica Talley, daughter of Terry and Yolanda Talley; sophomore maids Brishanna Simmons, daughter of Comechia and Daner Simmons, Anna Claire Woodfin, daughter of Dave and Missy Woodfin; junior maids Camryn Greer, daughter of Corvan and Anita Greer, Kiarra Woodard, daughter of Freda Skinner and James Skinner; senior maids Andrea Black, daughter of Robby and Sophie Black, Jada Gilmore, daughter of Mark Gilmore and Dorothy Patrick, Feria Mays, daughter of Timothy Mays and Moteka Beechamp, Tori McGee, daughter of Tony and Tami McGee,Destiny Roby, daughter of Martin and Sheila Roby.
Following the Safari theme, students will take part in fun day with specified attire throughout the week.
Monday is Color Wars Day. K4 students will wear pink; K, red; first grade, blue; second, green; third, purple, fourth, yellow; fifth orange; sixth, pink; seventh, red; eighth, blue; ninth, green; 10th, purple; 11th, yellow, 12th, pink.
Tuesday, Hero Day, dress as favorite country hero, movie hero, community hero, school hero or superhero.
Wednesday, Sports Day, wear favorite soccer, softball, baseball, basketball, football, hockey, volleyball or favorite sport jersey.
Thursday, Safari Thursday. Kosy is wild about learning and on the hunt for knowledge. Dress in your favorite safari attire or even as your favorite safari animal.
Friday, Spirit Day. Wear homecoming tee or maroon and white.
