An 8-year-old in Kosciusko is doing her part to give back this Christmas season.
Allie Grayce Gibson, the daughter of Kevin and Rhonda Gibson, is accustomed to visits to Blaire E. Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson due to suffering from hereditary spherocytosis, a genetic disorder that has caused her to be hospitalized frequently in her young life.
Monday she found a way to spread joy to children in the hospital when she delivered boxes of toys to the children’s hospital.
“Allie knew that when she got her shots that she would always get a prize, so she wanted to be sure that every child had that opportunity,” her father Kevin Gibson said. “This all started with giving Easter baskets and then we followed it with Christmas stockings last year.”
Through donations from Walmart and First United Methodist Church along with families and friends, Allie was able to give Christmas to children in the hospital that otherwise might not have had a present. This is the third year in a row that she and her family have provided gifts for children with chronic disorders.
“She is an amazing young girl with a big heart,” her father added.
