Allie Grayce Gibson is launching her third annual project collecting items for Christmas stockings which will be distributed to pediatric patients at the Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine in Jackson and also for local children with chronic health
problems.
Allie’s Joys, a non-profit group, was inspired by the eight- year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Gibson, who has the blood disorder Hereditary Spherocytosis and was a long-time hospital patient. She is a third grader at Middle Elementary School in Kosciusko.
Items suitable for donation include new toys for infants through 10 years of age, bubbles, Play Doh, colors and markers, coloring and activity books, small craft kits, sippy cups and small tumblers, sidewalk chalk, nail polish, hair brushes, small books, toothbrushes and toothpaste, stockings.
Items may be dropped off at God’s Corner Garden on South Natchez Street or at Ivey’s Mechanical Co. on the north side of the court square. Monetary donations will also be accepted with checks made payable to Allie’s Joys. A receipt will be provided if requested.
In addition to the Christmas project, Allie Grayce also collects items for gifts to be presented to pediatric patients at Easter.
