Dlonte McGee, 21, of Jackson turned himself into Kosciusko Police Saturday night following a shooting in front of 513 Lucas St. at around 9:45 p.m.
When police responded to the scene, they learned that two victims, a male resident of the home and his daughter, had both been shot and transported to Baptist – Attala by private vehicle.
As police began their investigation, they received a call from the station indicating that a male suspect had turned himself in to police in the case.
“It was a domestic situation between him and his girlfriend and his girlfriend’s father,” said Dew.
The victims – whose names are not being released by law enforcement - have both since undergone surgeries related to their injuries.
The father was shot multiple times, receiving five or six bullet wounds to both of his legs, his abdomen and one of his arms.
The daughter, the suspect’s girlfriend, was shot in the chest near her heart, closer to the center of her torso.
“Yesterday, they had both come out of surgery and she is now off of the ventilator and was talking. He (the father) was not,” said Dew.
McGee has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
He was in custody awaiting bond setting and will likely make his first appearance in Kosciusko Municipal Court when it is convened Tuesday morning.
