A celebration of the life of Vickie Ellington who disappeared on Jan. 27, 2011, will be held Tuesday, March 20, at Bethsaida Baptist Church near French Camp.
No trace of her whereabouts has resulted from an investigation over the past seven years. Judge Joseph Kilgore declared her deceased last week during the March term of circuit court, according to her son Adam Ellington of Lakewood, Fla.
A time of visiting will begin at 10 a.m. at the church with a brief service at noon, conducted by Rev. Alex Lawson, pastor of Bethsaida Church.
Mrs. Ellington, a native of Attala County, was the daughter of the late Louie and Sylvia Ferrell Sanders of the Chapel Hill Community. She was the owner of Attala Discount Drugs and Gifts and also Attala Fitness.
Ellington asked that those attending the service wear bright and colorful clothing to reflect love rather than black signifying mourning.
In addition to her son Adam, her immediate family includes her daughter Nola; two sisters, Peggy Clark and Shirley McGlothin of French Camp and five grandchildren.
