A team of Kosciusko medical professionals armed with pharmacy and medical supplies traveled to Barahona, Dominican Republic and Ans-A-Pitre, Haiti, where they ministered to children of Hispaniola Mountain Ministries.
The group included locals Edward Bryant, MD, Greg Browning, MD, Katie Grace Browning, Adam Middleton, DMD, Sharron Davis, Tara Dew, OD and Kellie Berry.
Joining the group were Patrick Singley, DMD, of Columbus and Maggie Robertson, RN, of Memphis.
The group’s flight took them to Puerto Rico and from there they drove to Perdanel, where they spent three days.
In Ans-A-Pitre, Haiti, the group ministered to the needs of staff and children of the compound and music school. In three days, between 250 and 300 people received treatment from the team.
Medications dispensed included pain, blood pressure and antibiotic medications.
Dental patients received both hygiene procedures and extractions.
On their final day in Perdanel, approximately 100 children received treatment for medical, dental and optometry problems. Over 1,000 pairs of sunglasses were dispensed.
