The Mississippi Transportation Commission (MTC) at its June 11 meeting awarded contracts for maintenance projects throughout Mississippi, including one in Attala County and another on roads leading to the county borders.
Nearly $2 million was awarded in a contract with Dickerson and Bowen, Inc., of Brookhaven, for approximately nine miles of mill and overlay on State Route 12 from Kosciusko to Ethel.
The board also allocated nearly $2.6 million to Lehman-Roberts Company, for multiple overlay projects including two miles on State Route 12 from U.S. Highway 51 to the Attala County line, and one mile on State Route 19 from U.S. Highway 51 to the Attala County line.
MDOT will release additional information regarding timelines and impacts to traffic prior to the start of construction.
