Holiday foods were in abundance Friday at the annual Tasters Luncheon sponsored by Helping Hands Ministry. The event was hosted by First Baptist Church and held in the Son Building where an array of food was served from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Food was provided by church groups, individuals and organizations with tables decorated in keeping with Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons.
Ministry Director Matt Tucker said proceeds from the event brought in $2,667. In addition to sale of tickets, funds were derived from a silent auction. All proceeds will go toward operation of the ministry which benefits disadvantaged and needy of the area.
“Our thanks goes to the community and the many individuals who were responsible for making the event a success. We appreciate your support and look forward to introducing more projects in coming months,” said Tucker.
