The Star-Herald was awarded for its advertising design with ten awards at the annual mid-winter advertising conference sponsored by the Mississippi Press Association in Jackson last weekend.
Star Herald graphic artist Jennifer McCaskill brought home all of the awards, which included three first place plaques.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the work that Jennifer does and the work that our advertising department does each and every week,” said Joseph Brown, editor and publisher of The Star-Herald.
McCaskill’s first place awards were for retain black and white ad, service business black and white ad and classified page design. She also grabbed a second and third place in grocery/ restaurant black and white ad. She earned a second place in institutional black and white ad and grabbed third place awards in black and white retail, auto color, ad series and single classified display.
“We were competing in one of the toughest divisions in the state with papers located in Batesville, Jackson and Hattiesburg also in the large weekly division,” Brown added. “Coming away with ten awards is a testament to the hard work that Jennifer puts into the product to give our advertisers appealing ads.”
