A sampling of holiday foods was offered Friday at Helping Hands Ministry annual tasters luncheon held at First Baptist Church Son Building.
Approximately $3,200 was raised from the event which is the major fund-raiser of the year.
A Thanksgiving and Christmas atmosphere was created with decorations and the variety of food offered on decorated tables in keeping with the seasons. Churches of the area participated, groups and other supporters of the ministry provided food.
In addition to sale of tickets to the luncheon, funds were derived from a silent auction of cakes, an assortment of “buy now” items and reconditioned jewelry.
Helping Hands ministers to the disadvantaged of the community from its ministry building located on Highway 12 west just off Youth Center Road and at the Thrift Shop on North Madison Street.
