Students from the Kosciusko-Attala Career Technical Center won numerous awards Thursday, February 9, at Mississippi Delta Community College.
The SkillsUSA club members from Automotive Service Technology, Welding, and Construction Technology programs competed at SkillsUSA Region II competition and garnered scholarships and awards in leadership and skill events. The leadership and skills winners are:
• Opening and Closing 1st Place: Rebecca Standard, Savannah Frazier, Samuel Rand, Billy Rhodes, Ariel Zamora, Diego Padella, and Justin Nunn
• Job Interview 1st Place: Samantha Shuler
• Extemporaneous Speaking 1st Place: Clint Sisson
• Related Technical Math 1st Place: Brandon Russell
• Quiz Bowl 1st Place: Blake Mullen, Ryan Atkins, Crisler Parker, Holden Shipp, Duquannay Dotson
• Structural Welding 3rd Place: Jacob McCory
• Welding Fabrication 2nd Place: Cole Ellington, Logan McDaniel, Reed Patton
• Cabinet Making 2nd Pace: Tommy Moore
• Residential Wiring 3rd Place: Paul Looney
These students have earned the right to compete at the State SkillsUSA State Championship competition Feb 28-March 1st. Instructors are Mr. Gerald Simmons (Automotive Service), Mr. Trey Culpepper (Welding), and Mr. James Hodges (Construction).
