Two arrests have been made stemming from a crash-and-grab burglary at Central Mississippi Firearms last month.
Travis Baker, 19, along with a 17-year-old juvenile, were recently arrested in connection with the crime after a tip from Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers. They were charged with burglary of a commercial building. The juvenile’s name has not released by authorities. Baker is being held at Holmes County Jail, awaiting transport to Attala County.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. on May 17, two black males broke into Central Mississippi Firearms on Hwy. 19. The suspects were driving a white Chevrolet 2500 diesel pickup truck that was reported stolen from Tchula. According to authorities, they used the truck to back into the front of the business to gain entry.
Items reported stolen included eight handguns and an AR-15 assault rifle. After fleeing the scene, the stolen truck was wrecked on Hwy. 12 West outside Kosciusko city limits. The suspects fled authorities on foot and were picked up by an individual driving a Trailblazer near Holmes County.
According to Kosciusko Police Department investigator Greg Collins, the department is still looking to make more arrests in the crime. Anyone with information can call Central MS Crimestoppers at 601-355-TIPS.
