Bargain hunters can visit more than 20 garage sales in Kosciusko during the inaugural city-wide garage sale this weekend.
With all sale permits waived this weekend for those registered with the Kosciusko Attala Partnership, residents will be setting up garage sales around the city. People can find a variety of items such as clothes, furniture and household essentials.
“The goal of the event is to bring people from surrounding areas to Kosciusko and make them more familiar with our city” said G.G. Holmes, Main Street Director with the KAP. “The more sales you can have, the more people we can possible bring in.”
The event starts bright and early Friday at 7 a.m. While each sale has its own individual operating time, most sales will be shut down around 7 p.m. The city-wide sale will continue into the weekend running from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
“The idea came from Ken Blan from the Central Mississippi Flea Market,” Holmes added. “He spent some time in Texas, but after some research we saw that it was a good possibility. We hope to continue to grow it and make it bigger in the coming years.”
Map and locations to all the garage sale locations can be found on page B7 and online at starherald.net and kosytrace.com.
