Sandifer awaits board action; Boyle on administrative leave
Principals at Ethel and McAdams high schools were not rehired during a Board of Trustees meeting Feb. 4, as was reported in last week’s edition of The Star-Herald.
Following publication of last week’s story, Superintendent Bryan Weaver confirmed Thursday that Ethel High School Principal Patrick Boyle had been placed on administrative leave and Corey Parish had been appointed Acting Principal of the school. Weaver declined provide any additional specifics related to actions taken against Boyle, including his removal from the school’s accounts.
Prior to the board meeting, Boyle had submitted a letter indicating that he did not intend to return to his position next year.
During their meeting Feb. 4, the board took no action on Weaver’s recommendation to rehire McAdams High School Principal Jackie Sandifer. Although The Star-Herald was unable to reach Sandifer for comment last week, she was reached by telephone Monday, but said she would have no comment on the advice of her attorney.
According to Weaver, the board has until March 1, 2019, to act on all school administrative appointments — including Sandifer’s — but as of press time, the board was not scheduled to meet in advance of that date.
The Star-Herald will continue to report this story.
