Attala County Self-Help Co-op Annual Founders’ Day Celebration was held on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Mt. Olive Multi-Purpose Center in Sallis.
The Community Celebration Fun Day began with a parade in downtown Sallis, followed by lots of food, fun, music, ticket raffle, auction, cake walk and a bicycle give-a-way for the kids.
Attala County Self-Help Co-op would like to thank the Sallis Community, Sallis board members, Sallis Mayor Jack Ables and all who participated and contributed to make this a successful community event, including the Sallis Volunteer Fire Department (Glenn Bishop), Attala County Sheriff’s deputies, motorcycle riders, McAdams High School marching band members and band Director Bertran Cowan, antique tractor and car drivers, horse riders, four-wheeler and 18-wheeler participants, the horse and buggy rider, and all of the Attala County Self-Help Co-op members. Special thanks to griller Steve Robinson, auctioneers Terry Ray and Tony Parks, The Star-Herald (Karen Fioretti), Tyrone Estes, local businesses and co-op members who donated items for the auction - including a live hog donated by Reuben Fleming - bicycles donated by Jesse Fleming and Reuben Fleming, Jr., and all who participated in the ticket raffle sales.
