The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather outlook for Attala County and other portions of central and north central Mississippi.
According to the National Weather Service, severe storms containing hail and damaging wind gusts are expected to develop this afternoon. A tornado will be possible as well. The storms will move east of the area by early evening.
Counties under the alert include: Montgomery, Webster, Choctaw, Attala, Madison, Leake, Hinds, Rankin and Simpson.
Throughtout the rest of the week: severe thunderstorms capable of damaging wind gusts, hail to thesize of quarters, and a few tornadoes will again be possible late Sunday into Monday. Heavy rainfall which may result in flooding is possible during this time frame as well.
