Last week, the Attala FFA chapter participated in the 39th Annual Legislative and Sponsors Breakfast. Over 500 members and guests met at the Mississippi Trade Mart to dine alongside lawmakers, promote the importance of Agricultural Education and determine how to meet new agricultural challenges directly.
During breakfast, students were addressed by Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture Mrs. Cindy-Hyde Smith. The chapter then went to the Capitol to participate in a flag raising ceremony and a State FFA Officer address from the Senate floor. Students were given a tour of the House and Chamber by Representative Joey Hood and also received encouraging words from Senator Barbra Blackmon. Kosciusko Alderman Henry Daniel and Kosciusko-Attala Career Tech Center Director Mr. Tony Holder were the chapter’s special guests at the event.
FFA members in attendance were Kaelin Wright, D’Mechriea Landfair, Ty’Derrius Davis, Mark Stewart, Jakeria Williams, Maddison Rosamond, Alexis Rimmer, Alexis Kimbrough, Alexis Powell, Trey Johnson, Vershun Hargrove, Hunter Hood, Emily Trehern, Jayla Gibson, Kristin Roby, Indozia Brown, Takeira Clayton, Bryanna Keith, Alyssa Wade, Katie Wilkerson, Cody White and Johnathan McMillan.
