Mack Willie Clark, longtime member of the Attala County School Board, was remembered for his years of service and his contribution to education over a period of 32 Years.
Superintendent Bryan Weaver presented a memorial resolution to his wife Virginia at the Monday night meeting of the board. Clark, who served as a teacher and coach in Attala County schools, died Nov. 22, 2016, following an illness.
At the opening of the Monday night meeting, officers of the board were named for the year. They are Willie Perteet, president and Christhy Moody, secretary. Judge Bob Jordan conducted the swearing in ceremony.
The board gave its approval to allocate $3,000 to purchase baseball uniforms and equipment for McAdams High School. Coach David Rigby detailed the need and outlined the schedule for the upcoming season.
The resignation of Jackie Terry from the McAdams High School cafeteria staff was approved. Substitutes named for the cafeteria were Velma Anderson and Shanique Greer. In other personal matters, approval was granted to pay Reuben Fleming for unused leave and payment to tutors at Ethel and McAdams High Schools.
A bus easement was approved for Colby Pettit.
In 16th Section land matters, Richton Tie and Timber was granted a six-month extension for the harvesting of timber.
