The 37th annual Big Black River Festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, in West with arts and crafts booths displayed along Main Street. There will be art, antiques, woodwork and numerous food booths.
Activities will begin at 7 a.m. with registration for the 5K and 1-mile Fun Run in front of the Baptist Church and the race at 8 a.m. Pre-registered runners are guaranteed a T-shirt.
Entertainment throughout the day will be provided by Big Earl from Pearl with Beverly Ellis. Bingo and a silent auction will be featured from 10 a.m. until noon. There will be a drawing for a $200 gas card.
Pony rides will be available at the Depot Museum.
Car enthusiasts are invited to enter the Riverside Car Show held in conjunction with the festival. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with a $20 entry fee. An awards ceremony for the top ten cars will be held at 2 p.m. For more information on the car show email aldridgejean@hotmail.com.
