In the annual Superintendent’s Evaluation, the Attala County Scool Board gave an Excellent Rating to Bryan Weaver at the December meeting stating that he met all performance standards and indicators.
Several personnel matters were handled at the December meeting. The board gave its approval to naming McAdams High School Assistant Principal Lorean Kilbert as interim principal during the absence of Principal Jackie Sandifer who is on medical leave.
Other personnel decisions included the resignation of Shawn Massey at Greenlee Elementary and the approval of Chelsea Johnson and Kaitlan Cobb to certified staff positions. Jeffery Wise was named a custodian for Long Creek Elementary and Leann Williams a substitute teacher at Greenlee Elementary. Tantaneah Merritt was approved as a janitor/cafeteria substitute.
The consent agenda included
• Approval of bus easements Rosie Evans, Marilyn Kelly and Walter Cauthen.
• Travel.
• Approval of field trips.
• Approval of Greenlee Gym for Junior High and High School Beauty Review.
• Approval of fixed asset disposal.
• Approval of Long Creek basketball schedule.
The board gave approval of a 60 percent day of Dec. 21 for the beginning of Christmas holidays. Classes will resume on Jan. 9.
Next meeting of the board will be on Jan. 9 at 5:30 p.m.
