Three people, including a Mississippi Highway Patrol trooper were injured in a wreck in Attala County last week.
The two-car accident happened on Hwy 12 W near Sallis around 6:10 am.
Cpl. Tony Dunn with the Mississippi Highway Patrol said a 2006 Hyundai Sonata driven by 31-year-old Niaeshia Paige from Greenwood was traveling east on Hwy 12 when the vehicle stopped to avoid hitting deer that were crossing the road.
A 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a Mississippi Highway Patrol State Trooper, was also traveling east on MS 12 and collided with the rear of the Sonata which was stopped in the roadway.
Paige was transported by ambulance to Baptist Medical Center-Attala in Kosciusko with moderate injuries.
A passenger in the Sonata, 33-year-old Christopher Clay from Durant, and the state trooper were taken by private vehicles to Baptist-Attala with moderate injuries. None of the injuries were life threatening.
The accident is still under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
