At the Monday Attala County Board of Supervisors meeting, motions were approved for payments of $4,538.89 to Gardner Engineering, $7,500 to the Mississippi Extension Service for the county’s beaver control program, and $3484 for the purchasing of courthouse banners.
District 4 Supervisor Kary Ellington asked County Engineer Christian Gardner to do what he could to expedite the re-opening of a Seneasha
Creek Road bridge. The company that recommended the closing of the bridge has yet to return and deem the bridge safe for use, despite work having been completed for roughly six weeks, according to Ellington.
The board also approved the low bid submitted by Dickerson and Bowen, Inc., who will carry out the county’s re-sealing project.
Steve Russell, executive director of North Central Planning and Development District, presented the board with the final draft of an application for state grant money that would be used to improve Airport Road at the Kosciusko-Attala County Airport. The county is requesting $177,632 for the project and would be required to match twenty percent of that amount ($35,527).
