A crash at the intersection Hwy. 12 and Hwy. 43 left one dead early Tuesday morning.
At 5:29 a.m. Mississippi State Troopers along with Attala County Deputies and rescue officials were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident.
The vehicle, a 2009 Chevrolet, driven by Jeffery Gibson, 51, from Kosciusko was traveling north on Hwy. 43 approaching the Hwy. 12 intersection. The vehicle traveled through the intersection and collided with a tree.
Gibson was pronounced dead on scene from injuries sustained during the accident. Officials say that he was not wearing a seatbelt. The accident is still under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
