The search continues for a principal at Ethel High School following Jim Wood’s letter of resignation to Supt. Bryan Weaver on May 9.
Applications for the position were advertised following the notification. Weaver presented names of applicants to the board for review at its meeting on May 29 with a principal expected to be named at the June board meeting.
In other personnel matters, in addition to the resignation of Woods, others accepted were Sandra Thompson, Lindsey Herring and Allison Hullett.
The resignation submitted by Lauren Wallace was rescinded.
The board gave its approval to hire Allison Bramlett, teacher at Ethel HighSchool; Kayle Briscoe, special education at Greenlee; Courtney Smith, speech pathologist at Greenlee; Gunner Nichols for McAdams; Ivory Riley, custodian at Long Creek Elementary.
In 16th section matters, a lease was approved for Paul Stevens and the lease of the Marion Riley estate was cancelled. Approval was granted for the appraisal of the Janet Adkerson lease.
The board gave its approval to advertise for propane and depository bids for the upcoming school year.
