The following cases were heard during March term of the 6th Chancery District Court in Attala County and entered with the circuit clerk office:
Dewey Gene Horne entered a guilty plea to touching a child for lustful purposes and was sentenced on March 31. He was sentenced to 9 years in MDOC with four years served, followed by five years probation.
Cortavius Monta Ferguson was found guilty by trial on two counts of armed robbery. He was sentenced to a pair of 35-year sentences in MDOC.
Sammie Earl Lee saw his charge of larceny and stealing a dog dismissed by the court.
Sherea Reann Vittitoe entered a plea of guilty to a misdemeanor charge of possession methamphetamine and sentenced to six months in county jail.
Sammie Earl Lee was found guilty to a single count of unauthorized possession of a contraband in a correctional facility and was sentenced to 13 years in MDOC. A count of unauthorized possession and a habitual offender charge were dismissed.
Dewayne Davis plead guilty to two counts of sale of less than two grams of cocaine and was sentenced to the drug court program.
Ricardo Rayshawn Harmon plead guilty to two counts of the sale of less than two grams of cocaine and was sentenced to the drug court program.
James Richard McKee entered a plea of guilty for building burglary and was sentenced to the drug court program.
Timothy T. Payton entered a guilty plea to a count of the sale of less than two grams of cocaine and was sentenced to four years in MDOC. Another count of the same charge was dismissed.
Melvin Nash pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine and was sentenced to one year in MDOC and a year of probation.
Courtney Shea Prewitt pleaded guilty to credit card fraud and was sentenced to the drug court program.
Joy Butchett plead guilty to uttering forgery and possession of methamphetamine and was sentenced to the drug court program.
Nathan Rushing entered a plea of guilty for touching a child for lustful purposes and was sentenced to five years in MDOC custody with two years in jail and three years probation.
Jermaine D. Alston plead guilty to possession of a firearm by a felon and was sentenced to five years in MDOC custody with two years in jail and three years’ probation.
James M. Winters entered a plea of guilty to aggravated assault and was sentenced to 15 years in MDOC. A count of armed robbery was dismissed.
Kelvin Riley Jr. plead guilty accesory after the fact to aggravated assualt and was sentenced to seven years in MDOC. A count of armed robbery was dismissed.
