Personnel and 16th section matters dominated the Monday night meeting of the Attala County School Board.
Contracts and duties of coaches Corey Parish, Patrick Dillinger and Carl Hathorn were discussed. The discussion centered on the possibility of a contract extension for Ethel assistant principal Corey Parish who also coaches basketball, power lifting and track. No action was taken.
Resignations were accepted from Kayla Reeves from McAdams High School, Rachel Black from Greenlee Elementary and Priest Crockett Jr., coach at McAdams.
In 16th section matters, the board gave approval to advertise for the reclassification of 40 acres from residential to recreational. Approval was granted to renew the lease held by Mississippi Public Broadcasting.
Travel was approved for the marketing department of the Career Tech Center to travel to Memphis to visit Graceland to learn the history of the creation of Elvis Presley Enterprise and how it will reinforce students’ concept of business and management of a well-run business.
Approval was granted to retain McKenzie CPA firm of Brandon for auditing services.
A day designated for inclement weather to be used for a holiday on Monday, April 17, was approved.
The next scheduled meeting of the Attala County School Board is set for May 1 at 5:30 p.m. inside the Attala County Courthouse.
