At the Monday night meeting of the Attala County School Board, trustees made decisions about some 16th Section land transactions and also approved some personnel changes.
A 16th Section lease was approved for Jennifer Parker on the property formerly known as the Pat Bruce place. The bid of $106.55 per acre submitted by Reforestation Specialist for tree planting on 225 acres was accepted. Nail Forestry Service was awarded the bid of $108 per acre for site preparation on 64 acres.
In other 16th Section matters, permission was granted for the Mississippi Forestry Service to conduct beaver control and, a 30-day extension was approved on four leases that were 60 days past due.
Resignations were accepted from Kristen Fancher and Carol Boyle and Leonard Brown was named to head of maintenance. Non-certified staff approved were Leeann Dempsey for an assistant teacher and Donna McDaniel and Oletta Watson for Greenlee Cafeteria.; Veronica Woodard for emergency endorsement; approval to hire a third grade assistant for Long Creek Elementary.
The following consent agenda was approved.
• Travel.
• Bus easements for Richard and Katherine Weatherby.
• Disposal of fixed assets.
• Approval of school trips.
• Approval of school facility.
• Approval of employees with out-of-district students.
• Approval of student meal plan refund.
• Approval of ACSD dropout prevention plan.
Financial matters approved were district financial statement and claims, club and activity accounts and the amended FY 17-18 budget. Purchase of equipment from IDEA funds was approved.
A donation of $693.70 to McAdams High School was accepted from McAdams Alumni.
