As tornado season approaches, Attala County officials are encouraging residents to enroll in the CodeRed system.
CodeRED is a high-speed emergency notification system provided by Florida-based Emergency Communications Network. CodeRED’s system provides officials with a way to quickly disseminate critical information during emergencies.
The city of Kosciusko and Attala County can use the system to notify residents within Attala County of missing endangered persons, prisoner escapes, evacuation notices or routes, hazardous materials incidents, drinking water contamination and other emergencies where mass notification is necessary.
The free mobile app can notify all residents and businesses, as well as people who send their children to school in Attala County or work in the county, to register their contact information into the secure CodeRED® database to receive notifications by email, SMS (text) and cell or work numbers.
All residents living within Attala County are encouraged to visit www.attalacounty.net and click on the CodeRED logo to enroll additional contact information including cellphone numbers, text and email addresses or they can download the app in the iTunes or Google Play app store.
