The Singing Christmas Tree at Carmack Community Center was very successful with a large crowd on both Saturday and Sunday nights. The singers were choir members from area churches as well as local singers. The six-tier tree was skirted in green with lights on the top of each tier. The auditorium was beautifully decorated with white lights wrapped around each column and blue lights outlining the windows. The red attire of the ladies was complemented by the white shirts of the men on the tree.
Topping the tree as the angel was Mackenzie Ingold who sang a solo part in one of the carols. Mike and Jeannie Howard also had solo parts in another of the carols.
Tommy Armstrong was the director of the production.
The Hanging of the Green at Sand Hill Baptist Church on Sunday morning was well attended. Butch Bingham (Cindy) has been elected as interim pastor at Sand Hill Baptist Church. The tree was decorated with ornaments given by friends and loved ones in memory or in honor of individuals. In addition to the singing of the choir, individuals who performed solo parts were Mike and Jeannie Howard, Amanda Pender, Jeffrey Arnold, Mackenzie Ingold, Janice Dees and Bro. Butch Bingham. Following the services, a soup luncheon was held honoring the senior citizens of the church.
