Supt. Bryan Weaver reported that “everything went well” on Monday with students reporting for the first day of the 2018-2019 school term.
At the Monday night meeting of the board of trustees, certified and non-certified positions along with approval of bus drivers were completed for the year.
Purchase of two school buses from Waters Truck and Tractor was approved at a cost of $81,000 each.
Lorean Kilbert, MTSS director with the federal programs, gave a briefing of the Multi-Tiered Support System.
In 16th section matters, a lease was amended and a 30-day extension was granted on the Zepher Creek Hunting Club lease.
Bus easements were approved for J.C. and Mary Young, Joe Betty Snow, Brandon Hodges, Nancy Armstrong, Lee Ann Bennett, Amy Bowie, Alonza Lewis, Jacinta Gibson, Donna Pope, Derek Odom, Tammie Stubbs and Melissa Breazeale.
Also approved on the consent agenda was travel, propane bids from Scott Propane; ACSD incentive program of Ethel and McAdams athletic schedules with the exception of McAdams’ baseball; employees out of district students; athletic event admission prices; rate of travel reimbursement/mileage increase; district financial statement and claims; club and activity accounts.
In personnel matters, the resignation of Ever Brown at Long Creek Elementary was accepted. Charlene Wasson was added to certified staff at Long Creek and Joshua Cumberland at Ethel. Additions to non-certified were Linda Teague, Derrick Ward, Garrick Alston, Josephine Terry and Charlene Wasson. Judy Shipp was named to the substitute teacher list at Ethel.
Non-certified staff members were named at each school. At Greenlee Elementary they are Tantahneah Merritt, Brenda Talley, Jerry Talley, Angie Wheeless, Lauren Sanders, Marie Sanders, Carolyn Trehern, John Spears, Charles Pinkard, Jessica King, Karol Boyle, Margaret Gilbert, Janice Merritt, Leanne Dempsey.

Selena Schuster, District Test Coordinator, met with the board in an executive session concerning the embargoed test material.
Board members voted to retain Mark Burton as attorney for the board.
