NATIONAL SUMMARY
A front will spread rain and thunderstorms from the
Tennessee Valley to the Northeast tomorrow. Some areas may
receive heavy rain which can lead to ponding of water on
roads. Additional afternoon storms are likely in Florida. In
the northern Plains, rain with a few embedded storms can be
expected in the Dakotas, Iowa and Minnesota. To the south,
in the central and southern High Plains, evening storms may
turn severe. Large hail and damaging winds will be the
primary threats, though a few brief tornadoes are possible.
In Texas, extreme heat will continue as many cities reach or
exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Many daily record highs are
likely to be broken. In California, heat will also build,
though records are less likely to break.
