NATIONAL SUMMARY
Drenching downpours will impact parts of northern Maine
tomorrow as Philippe begins to depart the region. Meanwhile,
several zones off the Great Lakes will have rounds of
lake-effect showers, with some even having a few rumbles of
thunder off Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. Some of these
showers are expected to move inland to places including
central Illinois, northern New England and much of
Pennsylvania and New York. A few waterspouts can even form
on the Great Lakes. Meanwhile, chilly air will continue to
expand into the Northeast, bringing November-like
temperatures to the region. Much of the rest of the nation
will be dry as very warm air holds on in the western third,
some temperatures can even reach the century mark in
Southern California.
