The Nation's Weather for Thursday, July 6, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
With a large storm system tracking eastward tomorrow, a
broad area of showers and thunderstorms is expected,
stretching from the Gulf Coast to the eastern Great Lakes.
Some of these storms will produce heavy rain and can lead to
localized flash flooding, although damaging winds and hail
should remain widely isolated in this region. Storms may
reach the western suburbs of cities such as Philadelphia
during the evening, but areas farther east are likely to
stay dry. Meanwhile, severe storms will be possible in the
central High Plains, extending from eastern Colorado to the
western Dakotas. Hail will be the main threat, along with
high winds and an isolated tornado or two. In the Northwest,
temperatures will remain above average, but they will begin
to trend downward compared to prior days.
