The Nation's Weather for Friday, December 30, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Showers will stretch from northern New York to the Ohio
Valley tomorrow. Rain and embedded thunderstorms will roam
Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Heavy rain
will raise the concern for flooding in Northern California.
Above-normal temperatures will lead to rain in the foothills
as well, with only the higher mountains expected to receive
snow. Precipitation will also fall in Washington and Idaho,
but not as heavily as farther south. The northern Plains and
Upper Midwest are forecast to be dry and seasonably cold.
Mild air will continue to surge into the Northeast. This
will help to slowly melt snow and ice that remain on the
ground from previous storms. Sunshine will be at a premium
across much of the nation, with the southern New England and
mid-Atlantic coasts being the exceptions.
